About Us

Grounded Rehab was founded in January 2019 by Marti Simpson with the purpose of building a practice promoting Hand Therapy as an art and a science.

Grounded Rehab strives to deliver outcome driven Hand Therapy services to its patients within the framework of Simpson Occupational Therapy Inc. 

Grounded Rehab also offers training opportunities to fellow Occupational Therapists to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of Hand Therapy.

  • Masters in Hand Therapy (University of Kwa-Zulu Natal) (2014).
  • Certified Hand Therapist (Hand Therapy Certification Commission) (2015).
  • Certified Ergoscience practitioner (2018)

What is a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)

The Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) defines a Certified Hand Therapist as an Occupational Therapist or a Physiotherapist who has met the standards established by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) which includes successfully passing a comprehensive exam assessing a therapist’s knowledge in advanced clinical skills and theory in upper quarter rehabilitation.
